Indian Judicial Exchange Program
The Institute began its partnership with the National Judicial Academy (NJA) of India and the U.S. Federal Judicial Center in 2017, with the aim to strengthen India’s judicial capacity while keeping pace with modern forms of crimes. As part of this judicial exchange program, we designed three parallel "training-of-trainers" programs for small groups of Indian judges and justices to craft new curricula on Terrorism, Cybercrime, and Human Trafficking cases.
Updated curricula reflect Indian national legislation and international best practices, while at the same time incorporating a modern educational approach in lieu of traditional lecture-based teaching methodology. In 2024 we will begin to model these best practices also with judicial institutions in the Maldives and Sri Lanka, and continue our collaboration with the NJA and state judicial academies in India through new trainings on Transnational Crimes and Counter-Terrorism.
