The CEELI Institute is seeking a Junior Communications Officer (JCO) to assist in creating communications content and developing social media strategies for our organization. Our audience consists of judges, lawyers, human rights defenders, civil society activists, government officials, and others involved in advancing the rule of law globally.
The JCO will be responsible for social media coverage of CEELI Institute’s events in Prague and abroad and will assist with various communications tasks to support the Communications Manager, such as website maintenance, preparation of promotional materials for CEELI’s training programs, communication with our supporters, and liaising with external vendors involved in creating CEELI’s communications content.
This position is project-funded and is for an initial term of one year with possibility of extension.
The CEELI Institute is an independent, not-for-profit, international provider of professional legal training center headquartered at the Villa Grebovka, in Prague, Czech Republic. Our mission is to develop and train an international network of legal professionals committed to rule of law. Through innovative training programs and other activities, we work with judges, lawyers, civil society, government officials, and other professionals in countries building laws-based societies to support fair, transparent, and effective judicial systems, strengthen democratic institutions, combat corruption, build respect for human rights, and promote the continuing development of market economies.
Writing and preparing communication materials in English for CEELI’s social media (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram).
Creating graphic visuals for social media.
Participating in on-site communication coverage for CEELI’s events: live social media updates, liaising with partners, CEELI training experts & participants, and CEELI Program Team members.
Assisting with external partner relations: photographer, videographer, graphic designer.
Assisting with website updates.
Assisting with the Annual Report and other CEELI publications.
Identifying opportunities to raise CEELI’s visibility & taking initiatives to develop social media campaigns.
Undergraduate or master’s degree in Communications/Journalism/Political Science/International Relations/Law or related fields preferred. Undergraduate or master’s degree students will also be considered.
Previous experience with communications, preferably in a non-profit or similar organization. Experiences with student organizations, internships, and volunteering will be considered.
Excellent English speaking & writing skills.
Proficiency in basic office tools (Office suite.)
Proficiency in social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn—scheduling platform Hootsuite is a plus.)
Good command of Canva or Adobe Suite design software.
Photography and videography basic skills.
Basic knowledge of video editing (Premiere Pro or Premiere Rush) is a plus.
EU Citizenship or right to work in the Czech Republic required.
