The CEELI Institute is pleased to report that the African Judicial Exchange Network Guidelines on Judicial Communication with the Public and the Media are now available on our website.
This is a practical guidebook for individual African judges as well as judicial institutions. They build on the CEELI Institute's earlier guidelines, developed for Central and Eastern Europe. This edition was adapted and expanded with input by judges from Botswana, The Gambia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Nigeria, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia. The Guidelines show how courts can build public trust by explaining their role, decisions, and work clearly
The new Guidelines will be officially launched online in an upcoming webinar led by the primary author, Ioanna Lachana, Media Officer and Community Relations Manager at the European Court for Human Rights. Make sure to join us to learn more about this publication and how it can be useful in your practice
